Stay away from newegg, they are no longer a reliable bussiness! After just checking the Better Business Bureau, I see they have an "F" rating. After explaining to them the problem, they agreed and said I would see the money back in my account in 2-3 days. Thier answer - " we will contact the seller and see what the problem is." 5 days later I have still not been contacted by newegg with an answer! I called my credit card and told them to stop payment on this order. I also called newegg customer service and they were of little help. After multiple attempts to get a intelligent answer from the 3rd party seller as to why my order has not shipped yet, I told them to cancel the order and refund my money. More than a week later, my purchase still ha not shipped! It seems newegg has started letting 3rd party sellers (scammers) sell on their website. I placed an order on July 5th, 2023 for some memory sticks, the ad said I would have it in 5-7 days. Newegg has been my "go to" place for all my computer parts. I have been a customer of newegg for more than 20 years. We will buy a new card and consider this a loss. We never had this kind of problem with NewEgg, but I can see that others have recently. They give us a total runaround over something as cheap as a wifi card. I have spoken to two NewEgg reps, and none wish to help us replace the card. When I tried to contact New Egg support, they tried to refer me to the insurance company I have the 4-year warrant with, but it's not their responsibility yet. We paid for a 4-year extended warranty, but the machine is still under the manufacturer's warranty and the manufacturer, IPASON, is giving us the runaround. I am a PC support person myself, and I am confident this is THEIR issue. I have attempted to reseat the card, reinstall its drivers, format the hard drive, and clean reinstall windows. This last computer purchase was off their "Marketplace." The Bluetooth/wifi card for the desktop I just bought from them fizzled and died. We have been customers of New Egg for almost 15 years. Reddit poster Dogboy99 wrote to Newegg, linking our article and asking whether this is a change in policy, or just a one-time exception due to the angry Internet mob. Which would be a nice happy ending and all, except for how customer service reps are still telling customers the exact opposite of that. After we published her story, Newegg rushed to issue her a refund and told us that changing or upgrading the OS of a computer doesn’t mean that you can’t exchange it if it’s defective. A very long time ago (Monday), a Newegg customer wrote to the Consumerist tipline, complaining that her laptop exchange was denied because she had installed Linux on the machine.
